Townshend Select Board appoints Connie Holt interim website coordinator

The Townshend Select Board voted to appoint Connie Holt as interim website coordinator, a move a board member presented as temporary until the incoming select board names a permanent coordinator. A motion to appoint Connie Holt was made by a select board member (S5) and seconded by Rob; the board approved the appointment by voice vote.

Board members and staff framed the appointment as a short-term step to ensure timely postings and compliance with open meeting laws while volunteers and committee members provide support. A staff member (S3) told the board EcoPixel recommended a single point of contact for the vendor and expressed concern that relying solely on volunteers could lead to inconsistent maintenance of required postings. “Their major concern is that the open meeting law requirements are consistently fulfilled in a timely basis,” the staff member said. Several board members said Connie Holt indicated she would serve temporarily while volunteers help under her direction.

The motion was presented as an interim appointment that will expire when the incoming select board chooses a permanent coordinator. The board did not record a roll-call tally; members approved the measure by voice. The meeting proceeded to authorize the website launch after the appointment.
