Airport terminal renovations at Hummel Field are nearing completion and furniture arrived under budget; a Virginia Department of Aviation planner said the updated Commonwealth Aviation Economic Impact Study showed a more than 723% increase in economic output for Hummel Field from 2016 to 2025.

Airport Manager Mr. Lewis reported progress on terminal building renovations at Hummel Field: flooring and carpeting were installed in the conference room and pilot lounge, only minor finishing work remains, and furniture ordered for the project came in under budget with delivery expected in four to eight weeks. Mr. Lewis introduced Steven Smiley of the Virginia Department of Aviation for an economic-impact briefing.
