MCPS reports strong early gains in some immersion programs; district to study consistency

Keisha Logan, MCPS director of pre-K–12 curriculum, summarized program locations: "For 1 way emergent schools, we have 7 elementary schools, 2 French, 3 Spanish, and 2 Chinese, and 8 middle schools as well," she said, noting the district also runs two-way immersion at six elementary schools. MCPS told the committee it will standardize implementation approaches across sites to evaluate whether immersion contributes to the gains reported.
