Plainview names Jessica Ogden chief librarian at Unger Memorial Library

The Plainview City Council heard an announcement that Jessica Ogden has been selected as the new chief librarian at Unger Memorial Library. Assistant City Manager (speaker) told the council Ogden has worked at the library since June 24, has seven years of office experience, holds a bachelordegree from Wayland Baptist University and is finishing a master's degree in library science at Texas Woman's University, scheduled to graduate in August 2026.
Jessica Ogden told the council she intends to "make the library a place where people wanna be and where Plainview can be proud of." The mayor and council welcomed her and said they would support efforts to expand services and community programming.
