Council considered Resolution R‑40‑54 to appoint seven directors to the newly formed Crime Control and Prevention District board, created by voter approval and ordinance. Staff reviewed statutory requirements under Texas Local Government Code chapter 363, including staggered terms, bond requirements (each appointed director must execute a $5,000 bond payable to the district) and the requirement to hold a public hearing on the proposed budget before June 23, 2026.
