Mayor Bryan Jensen described Ordinance No. 5‑26, explaining that although the Law Director was recently reappointed, no wage increase had been approved at that time. The proposed ordinance would increase the base compensation rate by more than 3% while lowering the hourly billable rate for hours beyond the base salary.
Jensen said the Law Director would work at the new City Hall three days a week after the move to increase availability for City business and that the City is considering hiring a part‑time Assistant Law Director later in the year to assist with ordinance preparation; that staffing item would be presented to Council in April or May after the move.
