Chamblee council adopts several ordinance amendments on second reading

During the Sept. 16 meeting the Chamblee City Council adopted multiple ordinance amendments on second reading. The city attorney read ordinance language or headings as authorized by the council; motions to approve each amendment were moved, seconded and carried.
Key ordinance actions recorded in the meeting include: a text amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance to add standards and definitions for tobacco and vape-product shops (including repeal of conflicting provisions); an amendment to chapter 6 (alcoholic beverages) that adds a 'grooming service establishment' definition and creates a 'complimentary beer/wine establishment' license; amendments to chapter 22 to require fingerprinting and criminal-background checks for dealers of precious metals and gems and to define 'key participant'; and amendments to chapter 86 addressing booting of vehicles on private property, including a 'key participant' definition. Each amendment included severability language and passed on the council floor as recorded.
