Trustee Dr. Robinson pulled item 7.11 to discuss student fees, fines and charges and raised concerns about cheerleading uniform costs. Ms. Lawton, the district's executive director of finance, described a multi‑phase approach: initial district support for UIL contest costs, keeping fees at $1,800 for the coming year, surveying parents, seeking sponsors and using a four‑year rotation or program uniforms to reduce family costs. She said, "right now, we're gonna keep the fees at 1,800," and estimated a possible $400 savings per squad in the plan for year two.
