State Board approves alternative-education waivers for four districts

The Oklahoma State Board of Education on May 21 approved statutory waivers under 70 O.S. § 1210.568 that permit districts with fewer than 10 alternative-education students to operate their own programs rather than join a cooperative. Board Member Brian Bobek moved to approve requests from Marlow, Maysville, Middleberg and Woodland public schools; Board Member Ryan Deatherage seconded and the motion carried with unanimous recorded yes votes.
