Commission approves $7,855 excavator counterweights; highway projects updated

Traverse County Commission on Nov. 19 approved the Highway Department's request to buy excavator counterweights for $7,855.00 from RDO Equipment Co. The purchase motion was made by Commissioner Chad Metz and seconded by Commissioner Dwight Nelson and passed unanimously.
County Engineer Chad Gillespie and Highway Supervisor Brian Koch briefed the Board on ongoing and planned work, including bridge projects, routine bridge inspections, and next year's project slate. Gillespie told the Board the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will do work on the White Rock Dam on CSAH 10 in the fall of 2025 and that the State Aid CSAH 15 project inspection was completed the prior Friday. The Board took no separate funding vote beyond the approved equipment purchase.
