Committee approves $27,115 extra for lightning protection after original allowance proved insufficient
Pierce County approved COR#12 Dec. 11 to revise the lightning protection plan; an additional $27,115 will be paid from owner’s contingency after the initial $50,000 allowance was determined inadequate.

Committee members approved Change Order Request COR#12 after Market & Johnson representative John Nuzum told the committee that lightning protection had not been fully designed at bid and the $50,000 allowance was insufficient. The county will use its current contractor for the work and the additional cost is $27,115 from owner’s contingency within Market & Johnson’s contract.
