At the Jan. 5 meeting the Colfax City Council announced committee assignments for 2026 and appointed Huntwork as mayor pro tem. Councilor Mackleit will serve on Finance and swapped roles so that Guenthner will serve as the Finance alternate; the Finance committee will include Mackleit, Schaefer and McRae. Personnel assignments list Guenthner, Sevedge and Huntwork with Mackleit as alternate. Public Works will include Golden, Schaefer and Sevedge (alternate McRae). Public Safety assignments are McRae, Mackleit and Huntwork with Golden as the alternate.
Councilors said the changes are administrative and intended to organize committee responsibilities for the year. No substantive committee charges or new committee-led initiatives were announced at the meeting.
