Bill creating pathway for engineering‑technology graduates moves forward

Representative Hicks presented House Bill 2130 to create a pathway for qualified graduates of accredited engineering-technology programs to become licensed professional engineers in Tennessee, while keeping strict requirements. He said candidates must graduate from a four‑year accredited program, obtain three references from licensed Tennessee engineers, pass the Fundamentals of Engineering and Principles and Practice exams, and document eight years of progressive engineering experience under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer.
