The Price County Law Enforcement Committee received a staffing briefing on Feb. 5 that documented active workforce shortages. The Sheriff’s Office reported one deputy on deployment, one on maternity leave, one on medical leave and one deputy vacancy that has been open since October 2025. The minutes note a decline in deputy applicants since about 2020 and indicate two pending retirements in 2026.
