Commission approves Whitetail Ridge Phase One final plat; developer says roads, power complete

The Fremont County Planning & Zoning Commission voted unanimously on May 26 to approve the Whitetail Ridge Phase One final plat (#25-050).
Planning staff told commissioners the preliminary plat was approved Nov. 18, 2024 and the applicant submitted the final plat within the required 12-month window; staff included the preliminary Findings of Fact and a submitted wildlife plan in the packet. Developer Braxton Crapo said the Phase One roads were built to county specifications, power had been run to each lot by Rocky Mountain Power, and that the developer self-funded the completed upgrades. "Those were built to county specs according to the engineered plans that we presented to you last time, so those are completed," Crapo said.
Commissioners asked about wetlands, adjacent property owners and the developer's cattle operations on later phases; staff and the proponent clarified open-space placement and phasing. Commissioner Siddoway moved to approve the final plat for Phase One and Commissioner Haws seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Next steps: The development will require execution of a development agreement with the Board of County Commissioners for phased work and any subsequent infrastructure or permitting required under county code.
