City staff report slowed permitting and water system pump replacements; cross-connection program emphasized

City staff provided routine department reports near the end of the meeting. Building official Jake Barlass said building activity has slowed because of weather. Utility manager Clint Drury reported water meters are stocked and urged business owners to respond to city staff communications; he emphasized the importance of the cross-connection program.
Staff also reported two pumps at the wastewater treatment facility are failing and replacement pumps have been ordered. Airport manager Darold Schultz noted light rehabilitation activity at the airport and said an Eagle Scout project is underway. The council received these reports and did not take any formal action on department items at the meeting.
