Weybridge Selectboard appoints Nikhil Palouf as zoning administrator

The Weybridge Selectboard moved and approved the appointment of Nikhil Palouf to the town’s vacant hired zoning administrator position. Kelly Flynn made the motion and Charlie Jordan seconded; the board carried the motion by voice vote.

Members praised Palouf’s background and said he could draw on local resources while learning the role. “Your real estate experience is good,” the chair told him during the discussion, and members emphasized that the town’s expectation is that the zoning administrator operate professionally and not show favoritism when enforcing rules. Palouf said he would use Jeff and Dorsey Cole as sounding boards and that he would rely on available guidance while learning the specifics of the job.

The appointment was tentative and described as an employment arrangement; the board asked Palouf to share a resume and agreed he would be paid through town systems. The Selectboard made no further policy changes to the zoning function at the meeting and said it would keep in touch as Palouf gets up to speed.
