County approves correctional administration reclassification, extends evaluations deadline
Summary
The board approved HRAC recommendations to rename and reclassify the Director of Security and Training to Assistant Correctional Administrator (C43→D71) and to raise Correctional Administrator from D71 to E84; the board also approved extending employee evaluations from Dec. 1 to Dec. 12.
HR Generalist Randi Schumaier presented recommendations from the Human Resource Advisory Committee. The board approved changing the title and banding/grading of the former Director of Security and Training to Assistant Correctional Administrator (from C43 to D71 exempt) and approved changing the Correctional Administrator banding/grading from D71 to E84.
Schumaier said the Assistant Correctional Administrator position will be advertised internally first and opened externally only if no qualified internal candidate is found. The board also approved an extension of evaluation deadlines from Dec. 1 to Dec. 12 because a department head training is scheduled for Nov. 4.
