Auditor presents ranked capital projects list and requests budget direction before November 1

Charlene Larson, the county auditor, presented the ranked list of capital project requests for the coming fiscal year and explained the committee process used to evaluate and rank requests. She said the ranking sheet lists projects in committee order and also shows recommended funding sources for each project.
Larson requested direction from the commission so she can prepare preliminary budget numbers due Nov. 1. "I need to know what numbers to put in the budget," she said, noting the preliminary budget must be produced this coming week. Commissioners asked for time to review the listing and agreed to provide the requested input to the auditor.
The presentation was procedural; commissioners did not vote on individual project allocations at the meeting but instructed staff to return with budget figures.
