Council approves master bond resolution for Sunrock development; first PILOT due 2027
The Southgate City Council approved Resolution 26-01, a master bond resolution authorizing Industrial Revenue Bonds for the Sunrock development, by a 5–1 vote. Bond counsel said the bonds will fund project infrastructure and that the first PILOT payment is expected in 2027.

The Southgate City Council approved Resolution 26-01 on Jan. 21, 2026, authorizing a master bond resolution for Industrial Revenue Bonds intended to finance infrastructure for the Sunrock development. The motion, moved by Council Member Melville and seconded by Council Member Okura, passed by voice vote: Aye 5, Nay 1. The transcript does not record which council member cast the lone Nay vote.
