Nobles County approves multiple citizen and advisory board appointments

The board confirmed a slate of citizen and advisory appointments for 2025 across EMPAC, planning, zoning, parks, library, watershed and health boards; several votes recorded abstentions where conflicts existed.

During the Jan. 7 meeting the Nobles County Board approved multiple citizen appointments to county advisory bodies and partner boards. Approved appointments included Bruce Heitkamp (EMPAC administrative role), Jared Rozeboom (EMPAC), Bruce Hill (Zoning Board of Appeals), Darren Pater and Jesse Leopold (Developmental Achievement Center Board), Jensine Kinser (Library Board), Matt Wieneke (Park Board), Sara Henning (Extension Committee), Ryan Kruger and Zach Reker (EMPAC), Alan Ahlers and Alan Hennings (Planning/Zoning boards), David Nerem and David Benson (planning and health/community boards), and Layton Gruis (Kanaranzi–Little Rock Watershed Board of Managers). Several appointments were approved with recorded abstentions where a commissioner had a potential conflict (for example, Bob Paplow abstained on one appointment; Justin Ahlers abstained on others as recorded).
