Lancaster County election board approves five polling place changes for May 19 primary

The Lancaster County Board of Elections voted Wednesday to adopt Election Board Resolution No. 2 of 2026, which relocates five polling places effective with the May 19, 2026 Primary Election. The motion was made by Commissioner Joshua G. Parsons and seconded by Commissioner Ray D'Agostino; the motion passed with Commissioners Parsons and D'Agostino voting yes and Commissioner Yoder absent for the vote.

Christa Miller, Chief Clerk and Chief Registrar, opened the public hearing and said, "there are five proposed polling place changes in Lancaster City, Mount Joy Borough, Lancaster Township, Manor Township, and Warwick Township." The resolution lists the precise relocations, including Lancaster City Eighth Ward Third Precinct (Pearl Street United Methodist Church → Redeemer Lutheran Church, 133 Pearl St → 800 5th St) and Mount Joy Borough East Ward (Mount Joy Borough Office → St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 21 E Main St → 37 E Main St).

During the public hearing, Lancaster Township resident Barbara Strasko raised concerns about the Lancaster Township — Fourth District relocation, saying it "may be difficult for the public to access due to its location, as well as the lack of a crossing and sidewalks." Strasko also offered to assist the county in finding a different site if necessary. The board approved the listed locations as posted on April 15; the changes take effect for voters on May 19, 2026.
