Members reviewed the existing city grant policy and debated how strictly the committee should pre-approve grant applications. Several members said recurring small grants (traffic safety, recycling, safety grants) should not require committee-level pre-approval, but larger or novel grants should be coordinated in advance so department heads and the administration can prioritize submissions.
