Committee trims library computer contingency from $10,000 to $5,000, requests year-end report
After discussing non-lapsing funds, an endowment of roughly $2.3 million, and how library contingency lines are used, the committee approved reducing a $10,000 computer-equipment contingency to $5,000 and asked staff for an end-of-year accounting of the combined contingency funds.

Finance staff reviewed the TV Scott Free Public Library’s 2027 budget request and noted roughly $12,000 in differences between what the library requested and what finance recommended. Library Director Laurie explained that certain library budget lines are non-lapsing and for endowment interest; she said, "There's about $2,300,000 in total in the endowment fund right now," and that only interest is available for spending.
