The Golden Age Center asked commissioners for $30,000 to cover rising payroll, utilities and renovations after reporting a $171,000 annual budget and recent grant applications. The center said it had received roughly $8,658 in foundation dollars so far this year and had $160,600 in applications pending. “Until we have a full year, we're not quite sure what it'll be,” the center representative said, asking for a cushion so the organization would not start the next fiscal year in the hole.
