Union County elections staff told the board that the State Elections Board adopted a rule requiring each voter checked in on a Poll Pad also have their name written on a paper sheet; the county described the requirement as redundant and not clearly useful.

At the July 13 meeting, Elections Superintendent Elizabeth Stevens reported that the State Elections Board (SEB) passed a rule requiring that every voter checked in on a Poll Pad also have their name written on a paper sheet at the polling place. Stevens told the board the office views the requirement as redundant and questioned its usefulness for local administration.
