The board said it held a kickoff meeting with Federal Engineering to begin a radio study aimed at improving interoperability across local and federal partners. Chair said the firm will reach out to the Bureau of Land Management, the Forest Service and local agencies to gather data on tower locations and existing radio architecture.
Chair said the firm indicated it would likely produce three recommendations and that, because the study started later than initially planned, the final draft should arrive in January or early February for board review and acceptance. Andrew Meek is assisting by providing tower-location and infrastructure information to support the study.
