County approves belly-dump beds and a Massey Ferguson mower for Public Works

Mar 3, 2026

The commission authorized purchase of two belly dump beds (not to exceed $77,500) and approved purchase of a 2026 Massey Ferguson 5M.115C mower for District 1 (not to exceed $78,100); insurance reimbursed $76,000 for the damaged mower.

The full story

Jon Jordan, Public Works Superintendent, told commissioners the county sought bids for two belly dump beds (for Districts 1 and 3) because the belly-dump design discharges from the bottom and is safer for operations on busy highways and under overhead power lines. Bids were received from multiple vendors; the commission approved purchase from Crossroads Trailer Sales & Service, Inc. not to exceed $77,500. The motion passed 3-0.
