Winn Parish votes to join three opioid settlement agreements
On attorney recommendation, the Jury voted to participate in settlements with Sandoz; the Purdue Pharma–Sackler Family 'Direct' settlement; and a manufacturers settlement involving Alvogen, Amnea, Apotex, Hikma and Zydus.

The Winn Parish Police Jury voted during its Aug. 18 meeting to participate in further opioid litigation settlements, following the recommendation of parish attorneys. Motions carried for participation in a Sandoz settlement, the Purdue Pharma–Sackler Family "Direct" settlement, and a manufacturers' settlement naming Alvogen, Amnea Pharmaceuticals, Apotex, Hikma Pharmaceutical and Zydus Pharmaceuticals. Each motion was moved and seconded and recorded as passing with six yeas and one abstention.
