Commission approves valve regulator replacement at county facility

The Cass County Commission voted to approve Resolution 2633 authorizing the maintenance department to enter into an agreement with Saris Systems Inc. for valve and regulator replacement.
Commissioner Bobby Ray described the existing regulator as original to the building and blamed high, damaging pressures: "We're running a 100 to a 120 PSI through those lines over and it just keeps on blowing pipes and stuff apart," he said, and added the new regulator should bring pressure down to about 65'70 PSI. The commission moved, seconded and approved the resolution.
County staff said the replacement is intended to stop recurring pipe failures and reduce repair costs. The commission recorded the vote in favor with no opposition.
