Solid Waste Department Head Corey Meitl told the commissioners the county's current transfer containers are wearing out and that one used for storage has a hole. Meitl presented a quote from Custom Manufacturing (estimate number 9456, dated 4/9/26) for a 43-yard octagonal receiver container and asked for approval to purchase and pay from Solid Waste capital outlay.
Commissioner Burdett moved to approve the purchase; Commissioner Miller seconded and the motion passed 3-0. Meitl also noted Murphy Tractor is hosting a waste-grinding demonstration in Kansas City on June 17–18 and that the company rents a waste grinder, and commissioners encouraged him to attend.
