Staff presented a comprehensive history and next steps for the long‑discussed airport interchange project. The project was advanced to near‑complete design in the 2000s (an EA completed in 2004 with a FONSI in 2005), CDOT purchased right‑of‑way for a preferred alignment, and the prior design included relocating parts of eastbound I‑70, constructing five new bridges and a main bridge roughly 2,000 feet long with piers up to about 90 feet tall.
