Board proclaims September as Workforce Development Month; local workforce board highlighted

The Solano County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution recognizing September 2024 as Workforce Development Month and lauded local workforce-development staff and partners for programs funded in part through ARPA.
Supervisor Williams presented the resolution and introduced Heather Henry, who described local workforce efforts, regional collaboration and recent recognition the county received as a career-advisory organization. Henry told the board the county’s local workforce board is "on the cutting edge" because of prior investments and highlighted an upcoming free workforce celebration in Vacaville on Sept. 18.
Officials said local workforce programs focus on improving economic mobility, building talent pipelines with education partners and supporting businesses. Staff noted ARPA funds have helped expand services and regional dialogues are reshaping career education and workforce strategy.
