Westfir water use up in May; operator reports resolved sample issue

Robert Archer presented the May 2026 water and wastewater operational report to the council, reporting total potable-water use of 1,154,700 gallons (up from 850,200 the prior year) and average daily use near 37,248 gallons. Wastewater flow totaled 111,033 gallons for the month, down from 128,657 the prior year, averaging roughly 3,582 gallons per day.
Archer described a single sample that initially suggested possible coliform presence. "I was gonna put out a boiling notice, but I had fixed it that evening, and everything came back," Robert Archer said, adding he took three additional samples to a certified lab and all returned negative. He told council there were no continuing problems at the water plant and that planned temporary fixes and an eventual excavation and replacement of one outfall line remain on the work list.
