The Lyons City Council approved a 3.3% wage increase for all positions effective July 1 to align with a minimum wage rise; councilors noted an expected ~15% increase in health benefits and that overall payroll costs will rise.

The Lyons City Council voted April 21 to increase all city employee wages by 3.3%, effective July 1, to reflect an increase in the state minimum wage. Councilor Jessica Ritchie moved the wage-increase motion; Councilor Amy Thrasher seconded, and Mayor Mike Wagner, Councilors Thrasher, Hyde and Ritchie voted in favor. Councilor Eric Gjonnes was absent.
