IT Director Tim Knight told commissioners that the county’s planned $240,000 capital switch-replacement project came in under budget after vendor negotiations. The original quote was about $274,410; the vendor adjusted pricing and the county accepted AM&O (state contract vendor) for $215,006.31 plus shipping. Commissioner Toman, serving as IT liaison, moved to ratify the selection; the board approved the ratification unanimously.
Knight said the purchase takes advantage of end-of-year pricing and will replace aging switches primarily in Green River, improving network reliability and aligning with the capital project approved in the budget.
