Council briefed on plan to convert zoning code into a consolidated development code

Staff described the current zoning code as a foundational but outdated document last revised in the early 2000s and recommended converting it into a development code that consolidates subdivision regulations and other materials for easier public access. "So the difference between a zoning code and a development code is really we're gonna incorporate subdivision regulations," Kyle said.
The manager said the village can accomplish much of this work internally and will coordinate with the planning board for multiple review sessions; council was told the project is sizeable and may extend into the next year depending on the planning board's schedule.
