Rockwall County Commissioners adopted a disaster documentation policy on May 26 that will be enacted when the county judge declares a disaster. Coordinator Rawson summarized the policy as a codification of expectations for department heads to document actions and records during a declared disaster.
"This would be a policy that would be enacted when the judge declares a disaster declaration outlining the expectations for documentation from the department heads," Coordinator Rawson said. The court discussed the policy briefly, asked clarifying questions, and approved the policy as presented by motion with a 5–0 vote.
The policy creates a clearer, documented process for departmental reporting during emergency declarations; staff will follow the adopted procedures when a future disaster is declared.
