Economic development administrator Mister Esch told the board that the city's wayfinding design is complete and under budget, with installation targeted for mid-June to coincide with FIFA-related visitor activity, but he recommended the Stafford Center not be used as a primary FIFA watch-party site because of cost and logistical complexity.
Esch also described ongoing conversations with developers about multifamily proposals that may exceed the number of units allowed under existing development agreements and said staff would request an update from the developer in coming months to ensure both parties "are on the same page." He reported PlacerAI and CoStar vendor contracts are in process and expected to be active around June 1 for sales-tax tracking and market data. "We won't assume there's an issue; we'll find out if there's an issue and then address it," Esch said regarding developer compliance.
