Agency flags maintenance implications as landscaping scope grows

Board members told the La Pine Urban Renewal Agency on July 16 that landscaping the transit center will affect ongoing maintenance and may require renegotiation or replacement of the current seasonal maintenance contract.
Staff noted the city has an incumbent contractor who provides maintenance for rights-of-way under an annual contract that effectively runs from March through November. "That's going to be a lot trickier," the staff member said when discussing a separate maintenance solicitation, and members agreed staff should analyze how additional landscaping would alter the maintenance scope and cost.
The agency was not asked to take immediate action on maintenance. Staff said it will return with maintenance pricing and details about how changes to the transit center footprint would interact with the existing annual contract before any award is made for installation or upkeep.
