Council to honor five mayors at July 4 celebration
The council approved naming the five living mayors who have led Stafford since incorporation as the honorees for the city's July 4 ceremony and passed a related motion. A separate proclamation for a centenarian veteran was discussed to occur on his birthday.

Council reviewed the July 4 honoree recommendations and discussed whether to recognize two committee-recommended individuals or all five living mayors who have served since the city's incorporation. Councilmember 6 recommended recognizing all five mayors to mark the city's anniversary and to celebrate unity; that motion to approve the five mayors as honorees passed.
