Board highlights debate team, All-State musician and signing-day commitments

The board dedicated time to "celebrations and points of pride," recognizing students and staff across Crowley ISD.
Trustee Latanya Woodson Mayfield recognized North Crowley High School debaters Samia August and Kayla Franklin for their cross-examination Lincoln-Douglas performance, noting it was the school's first cross-examination team in many years. Trustees also celebrated more than 550 years of combined service at a retired educators breakfast and congratulated student athletes (33 students signing National Letters of Intent during National Signing Day and additional early signees) and All-State musician Soderick Haines, who earned a place in the 2026 Texas All-State Band.
Board members praised teachers and counselors; Trustee June W. Davis called out the district's counseling team and the upcoming Mind Over Metals Mental Health Summit. Trustees encouraged community support and attendance at sporting events and district activities.
