Putnam County Planning Commissioner Barbara Barosa presented the Legislatures environmental review supporting a negative declaration under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) for the County Solid Waste Management Plan. Barosa said the Legislature had previously declared intent to act as lead agency and recommended adoption of the plan following her review.
Chairwoman Montgomery moved to pre-file the necessary resolution to adopt the plan and its negative SEQRA declaration; Legislator Russo seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Montgomery noted the Health Department now has a dedicated Solid Waste Manager, Savannah Usher, who will assist with plan implementation and oversight. The committees action advances the countys plan to its next formal adoption steps.
