County reports stabilized staffing for congregate meal sites; Cornucopia covers $2,500 shortfall

Carolyn Novack reported that driver shortages for congregate meals, driven in part by aging drivers with health issues, have eased after hiring part-time permanent drivers. "Staffing has recently stabilized with part-time permanent employees," Novack said, and she added that site managers — including Sandy Galer in Port Wing — are maintaining smooth daily operations.
Novack said participation fluctuates with weather and staffing but is generally stable; the Barnes site is fully staffed and operating successfully. She also told the committee the Cornucopia site conducted fundraising to cover a $2,500 shortfall and created Valentine’s gifts for nursing home residents as part of outreach and engagement.
