Financial staff: 2026 estimates discussed; PUD billing to be reviewed
Finance staff told the Jail Finance Committee they discussed 2026 estimates and targets, noted an apparent PUD billing issue (accounts charged 'more as a hotel'), and said staff will pull and review bills and contact the PUD to correct the billing; investments and bond payments were also discussed.

Chris Kemp presented the committee's financial update at the Feb. 18, 2026 meeting, describing 2026 estimates and targets and raising a utility billing concern. Kemp said the county was "being charged more as a hotel vs. on the number of fixtures," and that staff will pull PUD bills, review them and contact the PUD to correct the billing.
