Ryan Scott, the county Emergency Management Agency (EMA) coordinator, told the board the county-adopted safety program has been implemented at one local school and could be expanded to other schools and county facilities. He said the program standardizes terminology for mass-casualty incidents and provides training on how to contact police and reunify staff and students.
Ronnie Stevens, Sheriff, supported countywide adoption and live training but said accurate courthouse blueprints are needed before courthouse drills can be safely conducted. Ryan Scott said obtaining reliable courthouse blueprints is a current hurdle and that he is working to develop evacuation and reunification protocols for courthouse staff.
