Traverse County commissioners voted to place non-union employees and three elected officials—Matt Franzese, Kit Johnson and Trevor Wright—on a new wage-study salary scale, with the five commissioners remaining at their 2024 rates. The action followed a closed session the Board held to discuss labor-negotiation strategy under Minnesota Statute 13D.03.
The Board also voted to keep the 2025 per diem at $75. The wage-scale change was approved unanimously; the minutes record the closure and reopening of the meeting under the cited statute and subsequent motions to adopt the new scale for specified employees.
