Commission approves three-county Bragg regional economic development reimbursement

Sean Milne, director of community and economic development for the Bear River Association of Governments, presented a contract to provide annual economic-development services to a three-county partnership (Cache, Box Elder, and a small third county). He explained the arrangement was intended to be cost-effective for Box Elder County after the county had gone without a dedicated economic-development director and that the three counties pay proportionately by population.
"So each county pays proportionately to the departmental costs according to their population — 69% is Cache County, 27% is Box Elder County, and Little Rich is about 3% of the tri-county population," Milne said. Commissioners asked a few questions and then moved to approve the Bragg regional economic-development and quality-growth reimbursement.
