At the Feb. 24 meeting, the Preble County Board of Zoning Appeals approved a group of renewals for established small businesses and workshops across the county. Renewals included a K‑9 training facility at 7767 State Route 726 (Case 5719), an auto repair shop at 4736 Georgetown‑Verona Road (Case 5729), a machine shop at 1292 East Consolidated Road (Case 5730) and a retail gift store at 2567 US 40 East (Case 5731).
Several applicants emphasized long-standing operations: Robert Rice said he’s operated his machine shop for 21 years and asked for a two‑year renewal; the Board noted no known complaints in the record. Motions to approve the permits cited Section 816.03, Letter O; roll-call votes were recorded as unanimous for the items considered. Staff reminded applicants that Certificate of Occupancy and inspection requirements apply where changes or occupancy clarifications are needed.
The renewals allow continued operation for the durations the Board approved (most for one or two years), and applicants were advised to coordinate with Zoning staff on any outstanding permits or sign requirements.
