Orange County completed Point‑In‑Time count Jan. 26; HUD data still pending

Peter V. Tuohy asked whether the HUD Point‑In‑Time (PIT) count had been completed; Lacey Trimble confirmed the PIT count was done on Jan. 26, 2026, and said the county is still waiting for HUD to provide the data. She also reported that warming centers in Newburgh and Middletown were full with about 50 people nightly and Port Jervis had between 10 and 13 people nightly during the recent cold snap.
Trimble added that the Housing Resource Center Team will begin selecting families for a Housing Access Voucher Pilot Program in March. Committee members requested that the county share PIT results and follow up on how the warming centers and Code Blue placements affected sheltering metrics.
